David's right. Nobody is using DLT as a payment system. It's taking wayyyy to long. These other countries are light-years ahead.
They keep waiting and waiting and waiting . It'll be a massive tidal wave when it does finally go thru. By that time hedera or another coin will have better technology and the banks will switch to that
I 100% believe in decentralised governance, however there is a danger that information, knowledge, skill, and experience asymmetries are not reflected in democratic processes (the small group of expert vs. the less informed masses problem). We need to fix this. We also need a clear process for assessing and articulating the risk of bugs because while people may have very well intentioned beliefs with respect to never releasing any code with known bugs, the reality is that every system I've ever worked on in 20+ years in financial services for very big names has been released with known bugs but they're all tracked in a risk management system, and most are fixed in warranty (30,60,90 days) with the very minor ones moved to the backlog and fixed 'next release' . What surprises me is that there's no group of experts pulled together by the XRPLF to assess the issue (using something like CVSS 4.0), and write up a statement describing the problem, potential threat vectors, likely technical,, operational and financial impacts, and the workaround/mitigations. X is not the place to do this. Does the XRPLF run incident management for the XRPL? If not who does?

So many times, I have heard commentators state how when the market pumps, it skyrockets. It's almost like someone flicks a switch. Why is there no real explanation or investigation as to who or what really causes this once every 4 year pump. Yeah, I know… no one knows. But can't we hone in on the wallets that caused the pump and see how many times they are involved.

Gotta disagree with the delay unfortunately. Maybe it's due to the nature of my job though. I think the nature and severity of the "bug" in question shouldn't require a halt like this. After all, Ford wouldn't recall an entire fleet of vehicles if someone had trouble getting into their truck using their feet instead of their hands.
