Hi, I have got a question about the 10 year time span. Why do we always you 10 Years to calculate Intrinsic value? if you hold the company for lets say 15 years, it's intrinsic value will go up. I've spent quite some thinking on this subject and don't really get where the magic number 10 is coming from.
I disagree at 5:55, a product or service everyone uses or knows is likely to be growth or overvalued. I personally would much rather own companies that are undervalued and small-cap as they can multiply easier if bought below their intrinsic value. Microsoft and Apple will need absolutely massive growth to 10x its share price in a 5-year span, capping upside potential. A small company is more likely to 10x or even 100x its share price in 5 years as small companies have much higher upside potential. Large-Cap Growth companies have a tendency to become overvalued relative to their intrinsic value as all known information (over-optimism) is incorporated into the current share price to push PE Multiples to irrationally high levels. Warren Buffet currently buys larger companies now(NAV Value) mainly because if he bought shares in a small-mid size company he would become a Majority Shareholder legally speaking and he would bid up the price of the stock to insane levels due to supply and demand making the Bid-Ask spread too high to justify. Because Large Cap Growth have higher NAV Values and more liquidity, he can purchase them without much consequence because of the massive capital he deploys during a transaction. Warren Buffet got rich when he started by investing in Small-Cap Value or Microcap stocks as the outperform Large-Cap in the long run (Last Century).

I watch several YouTube videos on how to trade in the stock market but haven't made any head start because they are either talking some gibberish or sharing their story of how they made it and I do not want to make mistakes by taking risks in my own hands
