Investing in the stock market is perhaps one of the easiest investments someone could begin making.
As opposed to something like real estate, shares are far more liquid and don’t require a lot of capital to begin investing in them. But that begs a few questions: what exactly are stocks? How does one begin investing in stocks? And how much money can you truly expect to make from the stock market?
In this video, we take a look at what the stock market really is, how it works, and some of the common investment advice out there (DISCLAIMER: this is not financial advice – but more of a look at what is commonly taught in personal finance!).
We’ll cover why somebody would decide to sell shares in their company in the first place, what an IPO is, how stock exchanges work, what an order for a share looks like, as well as some of the different order types that exist. We’ll also cover the difference between long-term investing, and short-term investing, what indexes are, as well as how to invest in them through Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), and Index Funds.
There’s also an important warning in the final chapter of this video where we take a look at how the market has been doing overall, and why we’re seeing so many people make insane claims about the returns one can expect from the stock market, and whether or not this is typical.

Starting early is simple. The best way of getting ahead to build wealth, investing remains a priority. I learnt from my last yearโs experience, I was able to build a suitable life because I invested early ahead this time.,.,.,.
Didn't Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett invent the strategy of buying/investing when the market is low and also buying/investing when the market is high? As Warren Buffet said, he has seen this happen many times in his life. Not an investor. My husband and i never earned more than a middle class salary. We plan to get retired at 58 with a stock portfolio worth $4M. We have never sold so much as one share of stock…

bro this video is so good
Great video! i really have a question For someone with less than $10,000 to invest, how would you recommend we enter the crypto market? I am at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally what's your take on this approach?
I will forever appreciate this channel, youโve helped me and my family a lot, your videos, advice and lessons are inspirational helpful to us,
I now earn every week. Youโre such a blessing to this generation, we all love you.
At the beginning of the year, I increased my stock purchases somewhat, but not much. Why am I being so hard on this? Even if others in my sector make six figures apiece, I still want to be the first person in my polygamous family to earn a million dollars. I understand exactly what it costs to work harder in order to make more money.

I had seen many videos on stock market but now i understand it all! Thank you James! Your videos are clear, hit to the point, perfectly exlained the topic! Wish you more success! ๐
Thank you๐
Great video to learn how to start investing in the stock market. A Teenagerโs Guide on how to Invest Like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger teaches their key investment principles.
This video helps me for my projects thank you Jani
Crazy how most of these comments are bots
Great video – I sent to my daughter. Itโs funny, when I was a kid I wanted to know about stocks after I saw them listed in the newspaper. But I was told that only rich people could open a brokerage account – which was largely true at that time. My family was not rich.
So easily explained. Thank you so much โค

The ongoing sell-off in bonds and worries about an escalation in Middle East hostilities are weighing on the market, I want to diversify my stock portfolio of $400K , but not sure on how to mitigate risk because my portfolio has been declining rapidly since Q2 2023.
I am new to the stock market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks.I believe having 150K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good stock to buy and losing all the good opportunities

I mastered financial management through strategic investments, a powerful tool that's truly transformed my life. While some claim money can't bring happiness, the stark truth is that poverty limits every aspect of life. With the guidance of my advisor, I've remarkably multiplied an initial $70k investment into an impressive $950k and counting.

I agree, I've been in constant touch with a financiaI Analyst for approximately 8 months. You know, these days it's really easy to buy into trending stocks, but the task is determining when to sell or keep. That's where my manager comes in, to help me with entry and exit points in the industries I'm engaged in. Canโt say I regret it, Iโm 40% up in profits just in 5months with my initial capital of $160k.

This is amazing. Way better than the Netflix stock market video IMO
You nailed it! I've been scratching my head about the stock market for a while now and this guide has really simplified it. Thank you James!
I love this video. I would add at 4:00 before an IPO takes place is when investment banks come into play to help create the IPO price and take the co's public.
1:34 "begs the question" yuck
Wow, the comments section is full of scammers lol
I want to invest roughly $700,000 in stocks since I've heard that even in challenging times, investors may turn a profit. Any excellent ideas for stocks?.
I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.
Bro, I have seen tens of videos on stocks. yours is by far one of the few best. Thank you.
I wanted to finish this video but that Multicultural London English accent (MLE) is intolerable.
Long term investment is a better option than day trading
You're gold ๐๐
I thank you for refreshing me on what I learned from my high school economics class. And for clearing up a couple of things the teacher wasn't clear on. Still, the stock market seems to me to be nothing but a big fraud no one should invest in. Make them go to banks to speculate instead of selling stocks they're only going to buy back.
It was always my opinion that if people wanted to stick to reality, they would be well advised to act as if the stock market was permanently a bear market (which means stocks drop in 'value') because stocks tend to rise a lot, but they only rise when something is wrong. When the truth comes out, they collapse . . . a lot. Which means I sound like a short seller, don't I? Flattering concept, but someone like me will never hae the money to even begin getting into stocks.
What do you think of bonds as an alternative for people? They're nowhere near as flashy and they take time to pay, but they don't have the volatility or the fraud problem stocks do.
Thank you so much for this. ๐๐ฝI'm only 5 minutes in and already deeply appreciating this information which is why I paused the video to already hit like and leave this comment… And now I'll continue watching.๐
By far the best explanation of the stock market I've ever encountered on the Internet. Looking forward for more of your top-notch content!
Can I tell you something about the stock market. short term ( 1 -2 day) prices moves have a 50/50 chance of being up or down. why? because all known or predictable information is already "in the price" therefore new unpredictable news could either be good or bad. (if it was predictable it would not be news) I've got "proper" qualifications in this from the London Stock Exchange. just trust me on this one. This is why investing in stocks is not a short term game.
Stocks extended their year-to-date rally following the CPI report, with the S&P 500 last up 0.8% in afternoon trading. but I don't know if stocks will quickly rebound, continue to pull back or move sideways for a few weeks, or if conditions will rapidly deteriorate I am under pressure to grow my reserve of $250k.
