Stacks: A Sneaky New Crypto Scam | Onlyinvesting.info

In this video, I discuss two different types of cryptocurrency scams:

1) The category of “I built a better Bitcoin that I want to dump on you”
2) The category of “I’m a Bitcoin maxi, but I still have a new token to dump on you.”

The latter type of scam is much more insidious and parasitical, as it pretends to be pro-Bitcoin, all the while pushing a pre-mined new token that has already been awarded to insiders in large quantities.

I believe that Stacks (STX) falls into the latter category. It is just another garbage altcoin that tries to garb itself in angelic Bitcoin clothing.

STX is really no different from Ethereum– it’s just another pre-mined utility token that you need to use to pay for gas on the network.

By contrast, both Liquid and Lightning use BTC as their token.

  1. WARNING: There are a number of scammers who are using my image and
channel name to try to connect with my viewers on WhatsApp and other
platforms to scam them. Just so you know, I will never refer you to
"my personal trader" or try to connect with you personally to sell you
something. I am trying to ban these scammers as quickly as they pop up. You can
always recognize a scammer by clicking on the image and seeing how
many videos he has. All of these guys have zero videos, while I have
hundreds. I also now have a checkmark next to my name, so that you can distinguish the real Trader University from the imposters.

  2. Mathew can you make a new video talking about Sovryn? I'd like to know your opinion on this DeFi project. I wanna know if it's legit or just another crypto scam.

  3. While the argument is valid, the analysis is wrong. Stacks is building real value in the space and adding greater value to the bitcoin chain by extending the purpose of its security feature. The ecosystem is growing fast with the development of new dApps. Developers have genuine intentions of building on this platform to serve society’s needs. Calling Muneeb a scammer for having a bunch of tokens is like calling Satoshi a fraud for having 1 million BTC ahead of everybody else, premined or not. This video is misleading and downplays genuine work and development in the crypto space as a whole.

  4. You earn btc from stacks! Bc btc I'd not a smart contract. It gives btc smart contracts capabilities. Not sure why you don't understand it with a 160k subs! Satoshi hold 1 million btc so is thats scam!

  5. You are truly a godsend Matthew. I started liking Stacks and wanted to invest in it, but your video came on my feed; the video you had created 1 year earlier. Thanks a lot. In addition to that I got to know about Liquid network, which I had never heard about. Can't thank you enough.

  6. Hey man i love Bitcoin, and i am a developer. I just want to say if you're reading this… do not listen to this man! 😂 Bitcoin is slow, expensive, & hard to develop with. Yes there are some alts that provide good value to many people all over the world that bitcoin cannot do as of yet. Invest in bitcoin and whatever you feel like. Please do not be a Bitcoin maxi.

  7. hmm…damn…I liked STX…but i see your point…so question, what's your opinion on how to mint/sell/buy NFT's on the BTC blockchain then? I'm a music artist who sees the innovative value in NFT tech as a VERY important progression for the creative industry (amongst all other applications for NFT tech) and I refuse to use ETH, DESO, MATIC or any other alts, I'm a BTC maximalist and thought STX was my NFT solution. Any other suggestions?

  8. Hbar network is also a scam like xrp ? They rally work with google IBM and all this stuff ? Cause when I get stacking rewards from nodes, its sais nodes are on whole world, looks like real network, but a lot of scammers who wants People to buy this coin, and its like 50 bilion supply, and supply can more and morenif they decide..

  9. Definitely an opinion. That’s your right in a whole blockchain is experimenting to create a universal financial system trusted and verifiable history shows the current isn’t working I agree with the allocations being suspect ppl need to be paid for there time estimating that is a longer conversation. Not wanting to pick it all apart and understand your cautionary mindset I urge everyone to be cautious but also have for sight of these types of experiments just bitcoin will never work as the only crypto for blockchain and humanity’s needs and I’m not taking anything away from bitcoin its brilliant and a great start thanks for the insight there are a lot of misleading experiments be safe

  10. Would be very interested in seeing if your view of stacks has changed since this video was posted. Primarily around the assumption that the Nakamoto upgrade is rolled out successfully followed by the introduction of sBTC. If STX can successfully bring safe, secure, bitcoin liquidity into defi…wow big things ahead.

  11. I like hearing you think tank these things. Thanks for this.
Foundational companies & people earning a profit from the thing they helped create. What's wrong with profit? Are there any other aspects that make this a harmful project other than profiteering ?

  12. Looking back at this video. I still don’t see a scam. What I do see is a huge community, strong utility and keen interest. Even the money men are now involved. This kinda aged very badly for you sir.

  13. I've read through the STX documentation and have a wallet and tried some of the apps. My big issue with it right now is just that it's not well integrated with btc at this point. It's basically just a separate chain that posts hashes of its blocks on bitcoin. I assumed you could bridge ordinals and funds back and forth. It seems like you can swap between stacks and lightning network but nothing all that useful as of now.

  14. Hello Mathew, I think it is a good time to revisit the layer two on Bitcoin like Liquid and Rootstock and get your opinion on these protocol’s please!
