Panama’s New Crypto Law Is More Important Than El Salvador’s Bitcoin Law | Onlyinvesting.info

Not long after El Salvador implemented a new law mandating the acceptance of Bitcoin by merchants and airdropping some to every citizen, Panama has since proposed its own crypto law. In contrast, however, Panama’s new law is much less heavy-handed and more voluntary, is generic to cryptocurrency including explicit mentions of Ethereum, and goes into territory such as decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). More importantly though, this kicks off an “arms race” of competition between jurisdictions to offer the most complete crypto regulatory framework. This could be the beginning of a new era!

  1. Honduras doesn't regulate crypto. DNs are discovering the Bay Islands, Roatan, Utila, and Guanaja, and the Guanaja Hills group is actively promoting the islands as a crypto destination. Mexico, particularly the Playa del Carmen area, is very popular among the DN crowd already. Panama is home to lots of expats, and there's no reason to expect that will stop.

  2. Thanks for covering this! I led the volunteer group put up by congressman Gabriel Silva and our end vision for the long term is to transform Panama into a DAO. Countries are already essentially DAOs but not very transparent or robust. Imagine how this could look like!

  3. This is why I am afraid of El Salvador. You have that psycho Bitcoin maxi Max Kaiser in the president's ear, forcing him to ONLY accept Bitcoin and be hostile to everything else.

This is exactly the video I was looking for.
