  1. Budgeting is SIMPLE! having the discipline to stick to a budget is the hard part. Some people aren't willing to sacrifice. They feel entitled to a new car, a $1k phone, a 4000 square foot house, etc. Ya can't fix stupid.

  2. Budgeting is not that hard. Just assign each dollar a job and stick to it. If your fun money is running out then you know you have to wait until the next budget period. Yes you will sometimes break the budget but the idea is to stay in track after that.

  3. Any advice on how to budget on a ā€œsingleā€income that is not salary? My husband travels for work for his civilian and military jobs, and though I meal prep as often as I can he still has quite a bit of meal and travel expensesā€¦ I donā€™t know how to get us in a good spot.

  4. I budget on a monthly basis. Just a Word document with the name/date/amount of each expense and, after paying it, I highlight the row in green to know it's been handled for the time being. When I look at that column of text and it glows green back at me, I definitely get a little endorphin buzz šŸ˜Ž

  5. I've kept a monthly budget spreadsheet for 30 years but only recently have started weaning myself off using a credit card for day to day spending. This has really ramped up my self awareness of where my money is going

  6. I started drinking water only, I'm quiting fast food, soda, chips, too much chocolate. I'm done. I finally faced the music, (my monthly spending habits), and it shocked me to my core. Goalwise, I only feel the need to purchase a vehicle and a house. After that, I hope to continue to live the way I really want to.

  7. The every dollar app is not the world best budgeting app. Itā€™s not useable outside of the US (sadly), so by definition is not the world best.
