I don't understand how Tesla using transformer networks and "deleting 300,000 lines of code" puts them in a position to lose the race in FSD. They're still number 1. They have all the data they need. NVIDIA's car there in the video had a huge camera strapped to the top of it? So is that necessary to get it to work? Oof. Not to mention only works on specifics routes…

So… will we have real self driving that can, in real time, navigate terrains better than a human can in 10-20 years? I think we need AI in every piece of tech and AGI on your hands in order for everything in this video to come true.

the mercedes tesla comparison is misleading. if tesla operates at level 5 but claims level 2 functionality for legal reasons then what level is it really at? if mercedes claims level 3 with 100 real world constraints limiting its stated level functionality, then what level is it in the real world. the tesla system out performs the mercedes system in all metrics. tesla isn't concerned about marketing speak or appearing to be better, it is actually working on being better. the difference between engineering and marketing.
