  2. I only buy Christmas and birthday gifts for my grandchildren. I told the adults in the family not to buy gifts for me and they can buy whatever they want; if I need something I'll buy my own. All we do is share a big potluck dinner. It works out fine for all of us.

  3. It amazes me how many people fall for 'SALES'. Sales are not sales.. they are scams. Do you really think companies are doing you a favour by reducing prices.. it was their plan all along.

  4. I started letting my bank card home + I removed my bank account from my phone. I spend lot of money on food outside and at work when I have a break, now I try to take food with me or just a few dollars that I think are enough for a small meal 😁… It's helping a lot

  5. I am short of words to express how much I appreciate Ricchdawg efforts in holding me closely, through my hard times. Thanks so much for putting me thru all the credit card things 💥

  7. I don't really have the possibility to use cash. Instead i think prices in the time i need to save up for it.

As an example: right now i can afford to save only 10$ a month. Whenever i buy anything i think "how long would it take for me to save up for [insert a product or service here]". It would take me 3 months to save up for somethig worth 30$ and then i think is it really worth the time i'll take to regain that money in savings.

Ofc this doesn't aply to food or bills that i can not avoid paying to keep myself afloat

  8. Best way to save more is simply to earn more. You do this by investing in yourself (education, experience, social network and interview/cv practice).

That said, other saving methods include:
    – setting up a savings account taking X% of your pay
    – understanding the difference between needs, wants and nice to haves
    – not tieing money or material gains to rewards. Focus on the aesthetic or the practicality of it

  9. <Thanks for increasing my knowledge in personal finance, I recently subscribed to your channel. I want to give a big shout-out to all those working tirelessly to earn a living and build wealth during this recession. My wife and I are both retired and debt-free, and we're living smart and frugal with our money. Despite the recession, we're still earning passive income thanks to our savings and investments in the financial market. Investing lifestyle has enabled us to earn a steady monthly income through passive means, and we're grateful for it.

  10. I get up to 10% cash back in Canada or up to 20% cash back if you are in the USA buying the things I already buy. -Walmart, Tim Hortons, Home Depot, Gas and so on. You can do this by paying with a e-gift card instead with a credit card.

  12. I've learned that if I cook in advance when I'm not hungry and freeze or just refridgerate portions in smaller separate containers so that they are easy and convenient when I want a quick meal, I'm less likely to order a pizza or run out and buy a quick burger, fries & drink. So if I'm working anyhow near the kitchen area, I can have something on the stove cooking for later. This has saved me lots of money for the times when I'm hungry , not in the mood to cook and/or I don't have time to cook. Just recently, to my shock, I suddenly realized the total amount I spend eating out each month, just for convenience. And the rest of my budget was really tight, living from paycheck to paycheck. But now it's like I got a raise, just by making this one change.
