Making a budget comes down to three simple things:
1. Your recurring expenses
2. Your variable expenses
3. Your income

Then you just need to make a plan to attack it, to save, and to invest for your future.

  1. Hey Humphrey, great video first of all! The question is do I have to manually retype for the rest of the months? I want to set up my expense sheet but for the whole year. I dont know much about Google Sheets so I may just lack the knowledge. I tried to copy and paste but the numbers did not reflect.

  2. What's a PLN? I'm totally new to budgeting and pretty financially illiterate. Otherwise, this video is very helpful!! I just have one other question, why budget monthly if you're being paid fortnightly?

  3. I do this with my students but make sure you include insurance, medical, internet. I also have students think of things that only pay for occasionally like gifts, travel, retirement, investment. Also check these against actual cost after a month.

  4. Thank you for getting straight to the point and not overly complicating this process like so many other channels. Well Done. I have subscribed πŸ™‚

  5. Thank you very much. Exactly what I need, simple, straightforward, without a lot of talking or time wasted. I really enjoyed this. Yours look a lot better than the one I did a long time ago.

  6. Hey Humphrey! — I wanted to let you know that Mint is reaching end of life soon and will no longer be supported by Intuit (perhaps due to TurboTax lawsuit?). They are transporting accounts to CreditKarma and that service is lacking most of the personal finance and budgeting tools. I personally don't find the new service valuable. Maybe you can note this in your next update to this video.

  7. Hey mate, when I make a copy of the budget template to my account, it appears with only jan and feb? whereas the preview template has jan through dec. How do I download the template and keep all the months?
